This article introduces critical areas in studying dialectic and Aristotle’s Topics in Medieval Arabic Philosophy. It includes a historical review that aims to present the material available in Arabic (including Hebrew and Latin translations and commentaries) and an introduction to and overview of two areas of study: Dialectical premises and problems, on the one hand, and the theory of topoi, on the other. The article primarily aims to present the authors and their works and introduce their contributions to the topics under discussion. This endeavor aims to increase our understanding of how the reception of Aristotle’s Topics developed in the Islamic world.
