Indoor positioning systems (IPS) are becoming increasingly important in the future of wireless communications, with applications ranging from smart agriculture to indoor location-based services. While numerous IPS solutions have been proposed in the literature, many of these technologies are either overly complex or lack the necessary accuracy. The emergence of visible light communication (VLC) technology has been pivotal in enabling more effective IPS. VLC-based systems can offer centimeter-level positioning accuracy at a relatively low cost, making them a promising solution for a variety of indoor applications. In this work, we provide a comprehensive review of the state-of-the-art in VLC-based indoor positioning systems. We examine the main positioning methods and provide examples in literature.

摘要
