The motivation to write this book arises from a series of pivotal moments in the professional journey of the authors, each highlighting the need for a dedicated resource on designing high-current, cost-effective, isolated DC–DC converters. For several decades, the authors have been deeply involved in exploring and addressing practical challenges in power conversion, and this book represents the culmination of those efforts. The text is to serve as a resource for trained engineers and is not intended to be a traditional textbook or handbook. Instead, it focuses on real-world scenarios and offers engineers a roadmap to navigate through the challenges of a cost-effective design. We prioritize practical applications, component selection, and design trade-offs. This book presents the authors’ philosophy that real-world engineering is as much about problem-solving as it is about theory. The authors hope this book will not only provide answers, but will also inspire engineers to ask better questions and approach their work with renewed confidence.
