Intersections
摘要
Consider a case where you are unable to occupy a point (e.g., a cross on top of a roof of a church building) but whose position is needed, e.g., to monitor whether the church building is deforming. The usual practice is to occupy two places whose positions are known and then measure angles and/or distances to the cross. This chapter provides you with the skills to compute the position of the cross from either the measured angles or distances. This procedure is called intersection and can be done using either measured angles or bearings (angles measured from the true north) or measured distances.
