Cadastral boundaries, defined by on line and corner pegs, often rely on reestablishment to verify property entitlement or to incorporate subdivisions. This chapter investigated direct methods of resurveying to allow replacement of missing physical boundary points. Corner pegs are normally guarded by witness or reference marks (RMs) which are recorded in cadastral field books. These must be used to check or replace a boundary marker to eliminate disturbance. In some cases there may be only a witness marks to a missing boundary peg.
