Alternative Explanations of Education Censorship
摘要
Building on the theoretical development of educational capture, the implications of education censorship and alternative explanations are offered. Alternative explanation one: elite academic response to progressive education reform, which includes a look at progressive shifts (e.g., white privilege; fragility) and the links to censorship. Alternative explanation two: fights for neoliberal control, which entails a look at neoliberal competition such as social-emotional learning versus character-based education, and the ongoing shifts of conservative curricula (e.g., PragerU).
