Media Influence Part I: The Justifications for Censorship
摘要
The media plays a critically influential role in shaping and supporting social policy, particularly salient in the education censorship movement. To begin, an overview of media effects research is outlined to document the shifting dynamics of media influence and evolutions of power, framing, dwindling local news, and rising corporate control. This background sets the stage for an analysis of (N = 24) conservative news articles written by Christopher Rufo—a prominent steward of the Right’s censorship. This includes a review of the argumentative justifications for education censorship, before moving to an analysis of mainstream news discourse in the following chapter.
