To build on the theoretical framework of educational capture and alternative explanations, the immediate and future effects of education censorship are explored across macro, mezzo, and micro levels. Network elites are examined, including policy agenda formation, and the ongoing trends of proposed and enacted legislation. Reaction and resistance often occur at the mezzo and micro levels, represented in the media, with contention occurring within school boards and schools. Thus resistance and reaction insufficiently addresses the root problem and may amplify political divisions through fear-based reaction and mechanisms of distraction. To conclude, ulterior mechanisms and results of privatization, curricula, and for-profit educational expansion are used to document the neoliberal benefits of censorship.

摘要
