The purpose of this chapter is to accomplish two specific objectives: 1) to investigate and consolidate existing lean management (LM) research and 2) to identify and suggest avenues for research regarding LM implementation within the realm of travel agency and tour operation businesses. This study is employed a qualitative research approach to gather primary data. This chapter adds valuable insights into the expanding realm of LM within the travel agency and tour operator sectors providing prosecutable advice and approaches for small and medium-sized tourism enterprises aiming to stir up their practices and attain long-term prosperity in a progressively competitive environment. While prior research has identified the implications of LM implication in the hospitality industry, particularly in hotels, the application of LM in the travel agency and tour operator sectors remains unexplored. The study does not provide a quantitative assessment of the effects and outcomes of LM and the sample size is relatively small, and is not conducted on a large scale.

摘要
