In the evolving landscape of education and well-being, two important aspects of education are creating a holistic learning environment and promoting positive mental health for students through resilience. This is especially important for primary and secondary school-age children since these years set the stage for their mental health in the future. To address the urgent need to comprehend and treat the mental health issues that young students face in the Kamrup district of Assam, India, a service learning and research initiative was developed by the faculty and students at Assam Don Bosco University. This programme was motivated and informed by extensive literature that highlights the importance of mental health in schools which emphasize how important it is to incorporate mental health awareness and support systems into the educational framework during developing school years. Students were responsible for implementing a survey to identify the areas of wellness that students were identifying as problematic and then creating a plan for addressing these areas. This chapter reviews the steps of a service learning program that had the objective of understanding and highlighting the mental health needs of young persons.
