The ITINERIS (Italian Integrated Environmental Research Infrastructures System) project aims to establish a central Italian Hub for environmental research infrastructures. A key objective is developing a unified national framework to store and disseminate ocean data in accordance with FAIR principles. Within this initiative, the Laboratori Nazionali del Sud (LNS) of INFN manages the operation of deep-sea Junction Boxes (JBs) located 3450 meters deep off Portopalo di Capo Passero. These units are equipped with broadband hydrophones that have been streaming continuous real-time data since October 2024. Additionally, LNS leads the development of the Ocean Sound SubSystem—a component of the Italian Ocean Data Portal—which distributes this acoustic data via an ERDDAP server. This contribution presents an overview of the SubSystem and a preliminary analysis of the recorded ambient noise.

摘要
