Currently, intralogistics is seen as the area of Logistics 4.0 that will most benefit from the implementation of new digital technologies, naturally leading to significant management challenges, such as the change of traditionally manual jobs with big human influence to more collaborative jobs. Since intralogistics manages the flows of materials and information, its automation becomes preponderant in increasing the competitiveness of the companies, increasing productivity and efficiency through the elimination of activities that do not add value, such as transportation. This paper presents work from a project carried out following the Innovation Pact for the Digital Transition of the Textile and Clothing Sector, having as reference the implementation of an automated solution for intralogistics improvement in a textile entity that is part of the Pact. During this implementation, different types of solutions were studied and identified, transportation activities within the company were analysed, priority activities for implementation were established, impacts were estimated, and the requirements for the supporting software system were defined. The estimated impacts reveal that the introduction of an Autonomous Mobile Robot will allow a gain of 6.2 h per day (equivalent to 1,550 h per year) in the labour availability of operators.
