Purpose: To explore the human-computer interaction design ideas contained in Nordic Humanistic Functionalism, to explore the new path of children’s toy packaging human-computer interaction design under the guidance of Nordic Humanistic Functionalism, so as to realize the multi-dimensional thinking and innovation of this kind of packaging design in terms of the expression of commodity information and human-computer experience. Methods: Firstly, the application of Nordic Humanistic Functionalism in children’s toy packaging human-computer interaction design is systematically sorted out and summarized through the literature review method, on the basis of which a relatively complete theoretical system and literature resources are constructed. Secondly, the relationship between Nordic Humanistic Functionalism, human-computer interaction and packaging design is sorted out and feasibly studied by using inductive analysis method, and the theoretical basis and system scheme suitable for children’s toy packaging human-computer interaction design are summarized. Finally, through the questionnaire survey and observation method, we understand children’s physiological habits and psychological laws, and provide scientific basis for the follow-up human-computer interaction strategy. RESULTS: Through the study, it is found that the design concepts implemented by Nordic Humanism Functionalism coincide with the elements of human-computer interaction design for children’s toy packaging. The theory of the former is applicable to guide the practice of the latter, and there is a correlation between the two, making the study feasible. Conclusion: Combining the design concept of Nordic Humanistic Functionalism with the design elements of children’s toy packaging, we can build a humanistic and functional innovative design method for children’s toy packaging, so as to strengthen the interactive experience of children’s toy packaging; and portray the concept of “turning waste into treasure” for children’s toy packaging.
