This chapter looks at the ways in which fathers, fatherhood, and fathering manifest in Disney’s football themed docuseries, Welcome to Wrexham (2022-). The program routinely focuses on the men’s game, male bonding, and boyhood cultures, telling us as much about the changing nature of masculinity and paternity as it does about the world of professional sports. With this in mind, Feasey examines the docuseries to determine the ways in which the show encourages paternal sensitivity, compassion, and nurturance, against a backdrop of more predictable football hooliganism and aggressive masculinities.
