Introduction
摘要
In this chapter we provide an introduction outlining and contextualising digital privacy as an allied but independent field of cyber-security. We seek here-in by way of examples, to explain digital privacy solutions cannot be implemented effectively by re-factoring security solutions to emphasise the notion of confidentiality. Primarily, we point out that digital privacy in contrast to security, requires that we reason about the implications of both collective and individual privacy decisions. This as such requires that we consider not only how to keep information secret, but also what the implications of publicly available information are on the ability of systems to protect against disclosure.
