Relationship Marketing in Adventure Tourism
摘要
The Romanian market, situated at the crossroads of Central and Eastern Europe, presents unique challenges and opportunities for marketers. Romania’s marketing environment is shaped by its historical context, sociocultural evolution, economic transformation, and technological advancements. While Romania has integrated itself into the European Union, local practices and consumer behavior still reflect a blend of traditional influences and modern global trends. This paper explores the specificity of Romanian marketing, examining the cultural nuances, economic landscape, and technological developments that define marketing practices in Romania. It aims to provide insights for international marketers looking to enter or expand within the Romanian market and local companies seeking to optimize their marketing strategies. Also, this paper delves into the various factors that make Romanian marketing distinct, from its consumer mindset to the strategies employed by both local and international businesses. Adventure tourism, for example, is preferred by people with a distinct cultural profile, and Romanians are not among the top people who practice it. Marketing actions dedicated to an adventure tourism product in Romania must be adapted to Romanian marketing principles and the participants’ profiles, as evident from the case study developed in this chapter.
