The IceBreaker: A Portable Tangible Device to Facilitate Co-Located Icebreaking Activities
摘要
This paper introduces The IceBreaker, a portable tangible device designed to enhance social interactions in educational environments. It engages up to four users in rounds of questions, metaphorically “warming up” as an icebreaking session progresses. We present an evaluation of the device’s impact on social interactions and offer insights on using a shared device as a facilitator for co-located icebreaking activities, on turn-taking to encourage social behavior, and on enabling gamification while maintaining flexibility to adapt to other contexts.
