The cognitive development of adults with intellectual disabilities (ID) has increasingly gained attention in recent years, driven in part by legal foundations initiated by the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with (United Nations (UN), Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, https://www.ohchr.org/en/instruments-mechanisms/instruments/convention-rights-persons-disabilities , 2006). One of the key challenges is providing individuals with ID with appropriate training opportunities that neither over- nor underchallenge them. This paper focuses on cognitive assessments suitable for evaluating potential training effects. Additionally, it provides insight into the possibilities of cognitive training.
