Various research in the fields of sociology and psychology have clarified the role of nonverbal information on human communication. However, there is little research that has cross-sectionally investigated the influences of different types of nonverbal information on communication. Therefore, we proposed considering the impression of nonverbal information as an explanatory variable for the quality of communication. In the previous research, we constructed this multiple regression model for the avatar appearance and demonstrated its effectiveness. On the other hand, when considering communication situations with avatars, the speech voice (paralanguage) may also affect the quality of communication. In this research, we aim to define the impression scales for the speech voice to construct the multiple regression model. We verified the impression of the speech voice by performing a sensory evaluation experiment. As a result of the experiment, the three scales for evaluating the impression of the speech voice were defined as “Activity,” “Familiarity,” and “Social reliability.”

摘要
