In this study, cyan-emitting SrMoO4:Ce3+ phosphors were successfully synthesized in the solid state at high temperatures. The optimized samples were annealed at 1200 °C for 5 h with 0.05% mol Ce3+ doping concentration. The X-ray diffraction patterns (XRD) show the crystal structure formed tetragonal crystal structure belonging to the inter-tetragonal space group I41/a. The FESEM images exhibited a size distribution of 2–5 μm. The photoluminescence of SrMoO4:Ce3+ under an excitation wavelength of 270 nm showed a main emission band in a cyan region with a peak at 489 nm. The research results show that SrMoO4:Ce3+ phosphors can be applied in manufacturing UV-driven WLEDs.
