The Injustice of Inequalities in Wealth and Income
摘要
The disparities between those with the most income and wealth and those with the least in the United States are huge, with whites far better off than other races. It is difficult to see how any theory of justice can justify such disparities. In any event, we are faced with an unprecedented social and political problem that recent Supreme Court decisions have aggravated. Citizens United permits those with great wealth to give enormous amounts of money to those running for office, and it does not take much imagination to see how at least the implicit condition for obtaining money is that once elected, they are not to vote to raise taxes, thus creating greater inequalities.
