This chapter provides a comprehensive analysis of competition law and policy in Albania. The chapter describes how Albanian competition law and policy have evolved and analyses to what extent Albanian competition law is aligned with the EU competition acquis. Furthermore, the chapter discusses the role of the Albanian Competition Authority in the enforcement of competition rules (public enforcement) and outlines the main reasons why private enforcement remains underdeveloped. The chapter concludes with a summary of general trends and challenges that the Albanian Competition Authority faces in enforcing competition rules.
