Introduction to Minimally Invasive Foot and Ankle Surgery
摘要
Minimally invasive foot and ankle surgery (MIS) has revolutionised the management of common pathologies by facilitating quicker recovery, reduced postoperative pain, and reduced soft tissue trauma. This chapter provides an introduction to the principles and techniques of MIS in foot and ankle surgery. The procedures covered include the minimally invasive correction of hallux valgus, hallux rigidus, lesser toe deformities and calcaneal osteotomies for hindfoot deformity including the Zadek dorsal closing wedge osteotomy for insertional achilles tendinopathy. Each procedure is described in detail, highlighting surgical steps, offering surgeons practical insights into MIS for common foot and ankle deformities.
