In modern aviation missions, pilots are required to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in highly dynamic and high-pressure environments. The complexity of the multitasking places extremely high demands on pilots’ attention allocation, which directly affects the quality of task execution and flight safety. Efficient attention allocation enables pilots to maintain task continuity in complex environments, promptly identify critical events, and make correct decisions, thereby minimizing potential risks. Event Preview provides pilots with key information or potential risks related to future tasks in advance, helping them prepare ahead of time and allocate attention more effectively. This study is aim to investigate the effect of event preview on attention allocation. This study conducted experiments on 120 pilot trainees using a multitasking test platform. Participants were divided into two groups based on their utilization of the Event Preview module in a multitasking environment, and their performance across tasks was compared to investigate the impact of Event Preview on multitasking performance. A comparative analysis of the experimental data revealed that, under the condition of no apparent difference in baseline capabilities between the two groups, participants who effectively utilized the Event Preview module demonstrated superior performance in multitasking environments compared to the control group. The research findings aim to provide theoretical support for optimizing pilots’ cognitive load management and to contribute to the design of more efficient flight assistance tools and training programs, thereby further enhancing flight safety and operational efficiency.
