Enhancing Tourists’ Experience and Cultural Perception in the Summer Palace Through VR Interaction
摘要
This study explores the application of virtual reality (VR) interaction technology in digital cultural heritage tourism. Currently, the digital tourism experience of the Summer Palace, a renowned Chinese heritage site, relies primarily on its official website and WeChat service accounts, offering a traditional and limited form of information presentation with low visitor engagement. To address this, the research team focused on the “Strolling through a Picture” attraction and designed an immersive VR experience incorporating task-oriented interactions to enhance user engagement and exploratory behavior. User needs were analyzed through field research and surveys, while focus group interviews were conducted for validation. Findings indicate that users prefer concise yet engaging methods of acquiring knowledge. Integrating VR technology with gamification significantly improves visitor participation and cultural perception. However, effective design must address the disparity between virtual and real landscapes while optimizing cultural content presentation. This study provides a reference framework for advancing digital heritage dissemination and immersive interaction design.
