Advances Sustainability on Material Science and Production
摘要
Sustainable development, spanning social, ecological, and economic realms, necessitates preserving the integrity of resource exploitation, guiding investments, and directing technological progress. Over recent decades, integrating environmental considerations into material and product design has emerged as a critical imperative. Materials have historically fuelled technological advancements, from silicon powering the information age to high-strength aluminum alloys propelling commercial aviation. In the perspective of sustainable development, materials will persist in their pivotal role, enabling progress across various sectors. The transition of solar power into electricity directly hinges on the existence, efficiency, and manufacturability of photovoltaic materials. Sustainable progress hinges on the comprehensive engagement of the materials community; without it, the realization of sustainable development goals remains unattainable. This paper discovers the intersection of sustainable growthas well as materials science, highlighting key areas where materials science is poised to play a crucial part. With the sustainable development agenda assuming increasing importance across public and industrial domains, it stands as a fundamental objective driving societal progress.
