Development of a Low-Cost and Wearable Accelerometer-Based System for Motion Monitoring
摘要
Recent advancements in wearable sensor technology, particularly motion sensors and accelerometers, have garnered significant interest for the motion signal data acquisition. The wearable motion sensor systems have a wide range of application from human rehabilitation and disease diagnosis to animal feeding and movement behavior. This study presents the development of a wearable motion sensor system, comprised of low cost and readily available components, used to extract the motion signal and assess movement activity. The preliminary design executed on animal feeding behavior analysis demonstrated a successful operation in the data acquisition and validity. Further research can be made on the development of a robust system capable of continuously monitoring animal welfare and potentially even human healthcare.
