Verification of Braking Capacity Assessment Equipment on a Healthy Population
摘要
Patients often ask orthopedic surgeons when they can return to driving after a surgical procedure on their lower limbs. There are no standard guidelines for surgeons for that. This is the problem this work intends to partially solve, assisting surgeons to accurately advise patients to return to their driving routine. Equipment that measures response times and forces has been used to determine the parameters of a healthy population, which in the future may be used to compare parameters of post-operative patients. This work presents normal values of force and braking response times using a device that evaluates the lower limb dynamic capacity. Average braking response time found in this work was 493 ms and average braking force of 31.9 kgf. These values are in accordance with the literature and characterize the normal local population.
