Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for Motorcyclists: Parametric Design and Additive Manufacturing Fabrication
摘要
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is crucial for the safety of motorcyclists and passengers, yet it is often neglected due to comfort issues stemming from limited size and shape options that don't suit many potential users. This project aims to use Finite Element Method to numerically evaluate a parametrically designed leg protector, allowing for customizable geometry to fit various body types. These protectors will be produced using Additive Manufacturing, which enables flexibility in manufacturing without the need for molds. The chosen material for this method is PLA, known for its suitability. The study showed that these protectors significantly reduce stress on the human body, confirming their feasibility.
