The knowledge about important upcoming technologies and scientific challenges is key for developing research management strategies. However, while general game changers and issues are described in different reviews, they often lack individuals’ perspectives. A scientific team of high diversity, composed of academic and corporate researchers from all over the world, was surveyed for key emerging game changers in science and scientific work during the alumni meeting of the renowned Merck Innovation Cup. The obtained results were analyzed with the help of ChatGPT, which enabled us to analyze the survey data on the fly and thus further navigate discussion during the meeting. This led to new insights about game changers as perceived by a diverse group of researchers.
