Technological and Climate Change for Sustainable Water Management
摘要
This chapter presents the main challenges arising from climate change, calling for the rapid introduction and spread of low-cost, nature-based technological innovations, in order to mitigate the effects of that change, contributing to greater water efficiency and savings, in the context of irrigation and micro-irrigation systems. It presents the main missions and trends in the new water economy and explains the sequencing in structuring this work, organized in two main parts, namely, Part I. Sustainable Water Management: State of the Art, Challenges, and Landscapes (5 contributions) and Part II. Smart Irrigation Technologies and Climate Challenges: Benchmarks and Case Studies (8 contributions).
