This study investigates the effectiveness of virtual reality technology in educational and training environments, specifically examining the impact of 360-degree video and different viewpoint perspectives on learning outcomes. Using Kolb's experiential learning theory as a framework, the research explored three case studies across diverse domains: physiotherapy training, veterinary surgery training, and new driver training. The study compared the efficacy of 360-degree video against interactive 3D simulations and analyzed the impact of first-person, second-person, and third-person perspectives on learning outcomes. The implementation utilized Oculus Quest 2 headsets, Unity 3D software, and 360Instra Version 2 cameras to create immersive learning environments. Results demonstrated that 360-degree videos provided effective learning experiences while requiring fewer resources compared to full 3D simulations. First-person perspectives proved most effective for practical skill development and patient communication (89.36% preference), while third-person views enhanced movement comprehension and reduced visual discomfort (76.60% preference). The findings suggest that a multi-perspective approach, combining different viewpoints based on specific learning objectives, yields optimal results in VR-based education. This research contributes to understanding how VR technology can be effectively implemented in professional training programs while considering both technical and pedagogical aspects.
