Fostering a learning environment committed to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging is a priority for residency training programs and a moral imperative to work toward a just, equitable healthcare and education for all. Efforts in this space may be overwhelming as they are far-reaching, complex, and require sustained systems change. We present our Internal Medicine Residency Program’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) efforts to highlight ways both small and large that faculty can integrate this work into their careers.
