摘要
Morbidity among persons living with human immunodeficiency virus (PLWH) in the modern era has shifted from opportunistic infections associated with immunosuppression to complications of comorbid chronic conditions. This trajectory highlights the growing importance of the primary care provider (PCP) in caring for PLWH. PCPs should feel empowered to care for PLWH after familiarizing themselves with common chronic conditions that affect PLWH.
