This study focuses on investigating the traces of heavy metals in vegetables and fruits, assessing their concentrations, sources, and potential implications for consumers and the surrounding ecosystems. Vegetables commonly consumed by the local population were carefully selected for analysis. The concentrations of key heavy metals, including lead (Pb), cadmium (Cd), mercury (Hg), chromium (Cr), and copper (Cu), were determined using state-of-the-art analytical techniques, such as atomic absorption spectroscopy. The study will explore the bioavailability and toxicity of heavy metals in the edible parts of vegetables and fruits, providing insights into potential health implications. Moreover, the environmental impact of heavy metal accumulation in agricultural soils is discussed, emphasizing the need for sustainable farming practices to mitigate further contamination. Recommendations for soil management, water quality improvement, and regulatory measures are proposed to ensure food safety and protect environmental health. This research contributes valuable information to the fields of agriculture, public health, and environmental science, providing a basis for informed policymaking and sustainable agricultural practices. The findings underscore the importance of regular monitoring, awareness programs, and collaborative efforts to safeguard the quality of our food supply and maintain a healthy balance between agricultural productivity and environmental preservation.
