Strategies, Techniques and Advancement for Biomass Conversion: A Methodological Exploration

Nowadays, owing to the negative impacts of fossil fuels utilization, biomass is widely employed as an incredibly powerful source of renewable energy. The study of a diverse variety of sources for biomass available and their complete characterization is necessary to implement proper management. There are numerous methodological approaches for the conversion of biomass to generate electricity, fuels and added-value chemicals. The utilization of biomass-derived platform chemicals is immensely important in this field. A lot of vital chemicals are produced by these platform compounds, which are ultimately used in industries. India has a large scope for biomass conversion technologies as a large amount of waste biomass like food wastes, agriculture, agro-industrial and, forest waste is available in the diverse sector of the country. In this review, author highlighted diverse conversion technologies of biomass to the value-added products. The review also covers the advanced techniques for the biomass conversion.
