As artificial intelligence increase in capabilities new research and solutions must still keep in mind the shifting roles of human and AI. One way to describe this is by using the human loop paradigm or human AI loop paradigm. It starts with the idea that in the past all decisions, actions, and behaviors were performed by humans, then move to the familiar human in the loop and human on the loop concepts, ending with human over the loop. In the human over the loop the AI capability may be able to replace the human, however the human retains oversight and responsibility. In this final stage, the AI may be performing the decisions, actions, and behaviors but the human is still charged with the responsibility. Therefore, in the future human AI loop will continue to include key roles for the AI and the human. This paradigm is particularly important as we continue to explore artificial reasoning. In artificial reasoning, the intelligent system uses various techniques to perform reasoning to support behaviors, actions and decision tasks. In this paper we will discuss these ideas and what it now may mean for intelligent systems and humans to perform artificial reasoning.
