This study explores the use of the generative AI model GPT-4o for analyzing Moodle logs, comparing it with Moodle Logs Analytics (MLA), a specialized educational analytics tool. Focusing on a Digital Narratives course at the Universidad Bolivariana del Ecuador, logs were analyzed using both methods to evaluate the accuracy, ease of use, and utility of GPT-4o against MLA. Results indicate that GPT-4o can generate detailed reports and comparable graphs to MLA in various aspects of educational data analysis. However, technical limitations were encountered in creating complex geographical visualizations, such as world maps of accesses by country. Despite these challenges, GPT-4o proved to be a powerful tool for transforming raw data into valuable insights, enabling educators to make informed decisions to enhance teaching and learning.
