The current ecosocial crisis is undermining the complex interdependencies that sustain both ecosystem and human health. This chapter explores how the degradation of vital environmental factors (air, water, soil, climate and biodiversity) negatively impacts human well-being, from increased disease risk to reduced food and water security. It highlights how these systems are deeply interconnected, with degradation in one area triggering cascading effects across others. Moreover, it examines the scientifically proven benefits of contact with natural environments for physical, mental, and social health. The text argues for a system and integrative approach to health, acknowledging that human survival depends on restoring ecological balance. Without structural transformation of our social and economic systems, environmental collapse and public health crises will intensify. Ultimately, the chapter calls for redefining progress based on circularity, cooperation, and ecological harmony to ensure a livable future.

摘要
