Thermography is not only a temperature measurement technique; many mechanical and physical properties of materials have an associated thermal behavior that allows us to interpret and evaluate them. Friction, abrasion, fatigue, heat dissipation or aging can be tested using infrared cameras. In the world of sports, these and other properties give us information about the state and evolution of equipment, pavements or materials. In addition, applying advanced artificial intelligence and machine vision techniques to thermal images allows us to extract patterns and information to characterize sporting products objectively, without contact and in real time.
