Introduction
摘要
This chapter provides an overview of solar energy trends in Morocco, focusing on the country's strategic position in the global energy landscape, particularly in the context of renewable energy adoption. With the increasing environmental challenges associated with fossil fuel dependence, Morocco has embraced renewable energy sources (RES) to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and advance its energy sector. The country has substantial solar and wind resources, making it a key player in green hydrogen production and positioning itself to meet significant global energy demands by 2030. Morocco's commitment to renewable energy is highlighted by its goal of achieving 52% renewable electricity capacity by 2030, and its efforts to capitalize on its geographic advantages. Noteworthy large-scale solar projects like Ouarzazate and Ain Beni Mather further demonstrate Morocco's proactive approach to sustainable energy. The chapter also discusses the challenges faced by photovoltaic (PV) technology, including efficiency limitations, and emphasizes the importance of advanced Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) techniques to optimize PV system performance.
