Guidelines for Developing Graphic Interfaces of E-Health Systems to Facilitate Data Visualization and Interpretation on Episodes Prodromes in Alzheimer’s Patients

Alzheimer’s disease is a neurodegenerative disease that affects millions of people, who require special care that are regularly provided informally by their relatives, without the necessary infrastructure or knowledge, resulting in inadequate management and control of the disease’s prodrome. E-Health systems provide solutions to this situation, making possible to anticipate situations that require immediate intervention for the patient’s benefit; however, their interaction with patients, physicians and caregivers is still complex. Achieve a good interaction implies, mainly, designing the graphic interface of these system in such a way it allows to adequately represent and visualize the information and, with this, to concretize the actions for which it is projected. As a result of the research “Guidelines for developing graphic interfaces of e-Health systems to facilitate data visualization and interpretation on episodes prodromes in Alzheimer’s patients” (UAM-A), were proposed a series of criteria for designing graphic interfaces of e-Health systems that facilitate the visualization of information, in this case, for the control of Alzheimer’s crises. This is an exploratory and transversal research supported by a quantitative and qualitative methodology, whose validation involved an analysis that, based on the Delphi method, corroborated the relevance of the proposal, without excluding areas of opportunity to be considered in subsequent research, contributing significantly to the fields of Information Design and Visualization and e-Health.
