In this chapter, recent developments as well as current research fields on the description of tire, pavement and their coupling are presented. The investigation of the behavior of tires and pavements cannot be done separately as there is a strong interaction between both of them. The tire is loaded by the vehicle and is pressed onto the pavement surface. Due to the dynamic loading, the pavement deforms and over long time damages, which influences the rolling behavior of the tire in turn. Due to friction, the tangential forces are transmitted and the tire can roll but also wears. Additionally, the complex time- and temperature-dependent mechanical behavior of rubber and of the layered pavement structure have to be considered and make the numerical description of dynamic loading and interaction challenging. However, realistic simulations are essential components towards the development of Digital Twins, which is a promising technology towards optimized and sustainable tires and roads. A discussion on current challenges in the field of tire-pavement interactions concludes this contribution.

摘要
