Development of Wireless Pulse Monitoring System for Hospital Patients
摘要
This study presents the design and development process of a novel integrated device designed for the purpose of monitoring the heart rate. The high cost of the pulse monitor may be attributed to the intricate nature of its system, hence limiting its widespread use mostly to healthcare facilities such as hospitals and clinics. The objective of this project is to design a bracelet that may be used in medical applications, facilitating user-friendly health monitoring. This will be achieved by using an Arduino Nano microcontroller, a photosensor, a Wi-Fi module, and a 3D printed shell. In addition to this, the objective of this project is to design and fabricate a dependable apparatus capable of yielding precise measurements for the assessment of heart rate using cost-effective photosensors. This project also includes the development of a graphical user interface intended for healthcare professionals, such as nurses or doctors, to effectively monitor the patient’s heart rate expressed in beats per minute. The performance of our device was compared with that of an oscillometer device via the measurement of 10 individuals. The findings indicated that the device’s error rate is insignificant and proves that the device is quite accurate and acceptable in measuring or monitoring the heart rate continuously.
