The principal goal of this book is to develop a model that is capable of predicting attacks by JNIM—just as has been done previously in the case of Lashkar-e- Taiba (Subrahmanian et al., 2012), the Indian Mujahideen (Subrahmanian et al., 2013), and Boko Haram (Subrahmanian et al., 2020). Chapter 1 of this book shows that the predictive models used are highly accurate in predicting many of the types of attacks that JNIM carries out.
