Social Psychological Perspectives on Age and Aging
摘要
This chapter provides an overview of age-related research within social psychology. I describe how age as a social category and aging as a process intersect with many of the field’s core themes, as well as cut across multiple levels of investigation. The chapter highlights age and aging in the realms of emotion, motivation, and identity; charts developments in our understanding of ageism; and addresses the prevalence and consequences of cross-age interaction for groups and organizations.
