This research paper explores effective strategies for teaching the Internet of Things (IoT) course, addressing challenges faced by both instructors and students. Motivated by personal teaching experience, this paper highlights the difficulties many educators and learners encounter with IoT concepts in the academic sector. Through observation and reflection, the paper identifies key component of the IoT course, IoT teaching approach, key advice for teaching IoT, and challenges of teaching IoT. Key topics include breaking down complex IoT topics, integrating hands-on projects, fostering collaboration, and using real-world applications to contextualize theoretical concepts. The goal of this paper is to provide actionable insights for improving IoT education in the academic sectors.
