This chapter explores the potential of integrating sensor technologies and blockchain systems to create data-driven precision agriculture solutions. Traditional farming methods are struggling to meet the demands of a growing population and a changing climate. Precision agriculture, enabled by digital technologies, offers a potential solution by optimizing resource allocation based on site-specific data. The Internet of Things (IoT) facilitates continuous monitoring of relevant agricultural variables, while blockchain technology enhances transparency and trust within the agricultural supply chain. This chapter presents a taxonomy of blockchain-integrated agricultural sensor systems, investigates the technical architecture required for sensor-blockchain integration, and examines data validation and integrity mechanisms. Case studies illustrate potential applications in livestock management, crop insurance, resource management, and supply chain traceability. Despite the potential benefits, widespread implementation is hindered by technical challenges such as sensor durability and connectivity limitations, as well as socioeconomic barriers such as high initial costs and knowledge gaps. Addressing these challenges will require interdisciplinary collaboration to fully realize the potential of blockchain-integrated precision agriculture.

摘要
