This chapter explores the immanentization of the sacred in digital culture, where religious practices are increasingly framed within a historical rather than transcendent perspective. Drawing from scholars like Bosman, Geraci, and Severino, it argues that this shift naturalizes the sacred, making virtual religious practices appear legitimate. However, true sacredness requires a link to the eternal, not just historical forms. The chapter critiques technology’s role as a modern means of salvation, emphasizing that restoring the sacred necessitates reversing immanentization and reclaiming its theological foundations. It calls for a deeper recognition of transcendence to counter the dominance of technological mediation.
