Social Networks
摘要
This chapter offers a network view of the social world. I discuss how to conceptualize social networks from macro, meso, and micro perspectives, and how a network viewpoint encourages understandings that span levels. I describe common ways to measure social networks at each of these levels and the kinds of questions the network approach can inform. Notably, networks can serve as part of an explanation, as an outcome, or both. I conclude by identifying areas where network scholars and social psychologists can fruitfully engage one another and some of the challenges in so doing.
